The D Programming Language
The book-length guide to D, written while Andrei was co-designing the language with Walter Bright and designing its standard library.
An excellently written book for an introduction to the language.
It covers the language as a language, not as a tour of features: ranges, scope, generics, concurrency, and the reasons those choices exist. ISBN 978-0321635365.
